Abstract submission
Abstracts for poster or talk presentations can be submitted at the web-pages of the European Cetacean Society (www.europeancetaceansociety.eu). Please be aware that you have to log in for being able to submit abstracts. Submission deadline is the 13.11.2009.
Workshop proposals should be send to ecs2010(at)meeresmuseum.de. Please give a title with a short resume of the workshop content, indicate the favoured length of the workshop (half/full day) and the anticipated number of participants. Abstract submission deadline for workshops is also the 13.11.2009.
Poster slides
Authors presenting a poster may prepare one Power Point slide to inform the entire audience about their presentation. It must include authors, title, poster number and a brief summary-sentence of your work. Please use the poster slide template (available here soon). Send your slide by email to ecs2010.sc(at)gmail.com no later than 12.02.2010.
Requests for financial support
Support is generally conditional on a presentation which should be submitted in the usual way (see Abstracts) but is not limited to students.
Limited financial support will be offered to students being the first author or a nominated author of an accepted talk or poster. The precise amount granted will depend on the number of students subsidized and the amount of money available. Further details can be found on the abstract submission form.
Additionally, a limited number of grants are available to members who are from Eastern Europe and other countries where there are financial constraints to travel. Members seeking this support must send an additional travel grant application to the Conference Organizers at ecs2010(at)meeresmuseum.de no later than 13.11.2009.
Videos
Short videos showing your work or something interesting you want to share with the audience with subject marine mammals can be presented at the video night. The video submission form should be sent to ecs2010.sc(at)gmail.com no later than 15.01.2010.
Student volunteers
As in the past years, a number of students will have the opportunity to help out with different tasks during the conference. This could be the registration of participants, giving information to an enquirer, looking after sales or passing microphones during sessions. Volunteers will spend approximately 1/3 of the conference time helping out and in return receive free registration to the conference and free dancing. Students who are interested or want more information, please contact Polona Kotnjek, polona.kotnjek(at)gmail.com .
Student Awards
At this conference the best graduate and undergraduate student oral and poster presentations will again have the opportunity to win an award. To qualify, students must be the first authors of their paper. For further details please see the abstract submission form.
