If you like to travel CO2-neutral to the ECS2010-conference you may compensate your CO2-emission of your trip e.g. at amtosfair. Here you can calculate the CO2-emission of your trip and help projects on developing techniques for reducing the level of CO2-emission.

Berlin-Tegel (TXL)
It takes about 20 min to get from the Internation airport Berlin Tegel (TXL) to Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof = Hbf) by TXL Bus-Shuttle. The bus runs very regularly and costs around 2.10 €. From Berlin Central Station take the train to Stralsund Central Station.
Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF)
The easiest way to get to Berlin Central Station from the International airport Berlin Schönefeld is: taking the bus (SXF1) from International airport to "Südkreuz", which costs about 2.80 €. From here, either change to the suburban train (S-Bahn) to go to the Berlin Central Station or take the train (Regionalbahn) to Berlin Central Station.
Another possibility from International airport Berlin Schönefeld to Berlin Central Station: Take the suburban train S9 from the airport to "Treptower Park", change the suburban train to go to "Ostkreuz" and then use another suburban train to Berlin Central Station.
From Berlin Central Station take the train to Stralsund Central Station.
- From Hamburg (HAM)
Take the suburban railway line S1 (departure every 10 minutes) from train station "Hamburg Airport" to Hamburg Central Station. Next, take the train to Stralsund Central Station.
- From Lübeck (LBC)
By train from station "Luebeck Airport" to Central Station. From there by train to Stralsund Central Station.
Alternatively, from the airport with the bus line 6 to the Central Bus Station (ZOB). Here you will find the Central Train Station. From here you can take the train to Stralsund Central Station. The bus from the airport to Central Station costs around 2,50 €.

by train
Stralsund can be reached from all major German cities by train. Leaving from Berlin or Hamburg, it takes less than three hours to get there. Approximately 25 Intercity trains and a multitude of regional trains stop daily in Stralsund. Depending on your departure train station in Germany, there may be different offers of Deutsche Bahn: "Schönes Wochenendticket" (Happy-Weekend-Ticket), "Ostsee-Ticket" (Baltic Sea ticket) or regional discount tickets "Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Ticket".
by car
The Hanseatic city of Stralsund is located in North-Eastern Germany nearby the island Rügen, the largest island of the country. The city is well-connected to Northern Germany’s metropolis. Depending on the way you are travelling, there are several options how to get to Stralsund.
from the south:
Since the autobahn A20 has been completed, it is easier and faster to get
to Stralsund. It takes less than three hours from Berlin to Stralsund.
Leaving Berlin on "Berliner Ring" drive until "Dreieck Schwanebeck"
and take autobahn A11 until "Dreieck Uckermark". Then take autobahn
A20 until exit "Stralsund" and follow street B96 up to Stralsund.
from the west:
Leaving from Hamburg, you will reach Stralsund in a approximately 2.5 hours ride. Take autobahn A20 if you come from the direction Hamburg/Rostock until exit Stralsund. Then follow street B96.
Parking in Stralsund
Parking space in Stralsund is quite limited. If your accommodation does not provide parking lots, here we can offer you an alternative:
In the inner city of Stralsund are two multi-storey car parks, which offer special prices. At the car parks

"Am Ozeaneum", address: Am Langen Kanal
you can purchase a "time-ticket" for 15 €, valid for three days. It allows you to check in and out round-the-clock independently from regular business hours via a roller shutter. Any additional day will add 5 € per day to the price.
The "time-ticket" is available for all conference attendees showing the ECS name badge at the offices within the multi-storey car parks. You can also purchase the ticket at the registration desk on Sunday evening and Monday morning.
