Float through the broad glas foyer on Europes' longest self-supporting escalator into the fascinating world of the seas. On the exhibitions in the OZEANEUM you will discover the water planet earth.

 

The OZEANEUM presents five permanent exhibitions. The towards the sea orientated structure presents the first three exhibitions of the museum.

 

The escalator takes you up to a lucid gallery. Before you start your discovery of the world oceans you may enjoy the splendid view from the gallery through the glass facade. Germanys´largest island - Rügen - is only 3 km away. The panorama view starts with the harbour of Stralsund and the new Rügen-Bridge all the way to Stralsunds´ship yard.

The World Ocean – Diversity of life

The World Ocean - Diversity of life: Do you know the world oceans? At the entrance you are welcomed by sounds of splashing and breaking water and a projection of the water planet earth. [more]

 

 

The Baltic - A European Sea in our Midst

These exhibition guides the visitor on a tour around the Baltic Sea. The exhibition starts with a model of the relief which shows the diversified topography of the Baltic Seas' ground with plenty of valleys and swells. [more]

Exploration and Utilisation of the Seas

Only step by step and with a high technological effort we succeed in getting an inside into the mysteries of the sea. Only by interaction of all fields in marine research and combination with research results scientists can draw a picture of the habitat sea.

The Children's Sea

A hands-on attempt with the topic "sea" is in the centre at "the children's Sea". The main content is designed for kids between six and 12 years and is completed with elements for younger ones. [more]

 

 

1:1 Giants of the Seas

At the end of the round tour through the OZEANEUM the visitor will experience another highlight. An exposition room with a height of approximately 20 meters and 30 meters length awaits the guests. It accommodates models of whales and other giants of the seas in their original sizes. [more]
