Waiting time

During holidays, especially in summer, you may have to wait at OZEANEUM’s entrance. You can avoid waiting by simply visiting us in the afternoon. You can also pre-book your tickets online and walk straight to the admittance.

Pregnant women and handicapped visitors well as their accompanying persons or carers do not have to wait in line. Please directly proceed to the info point.

Duration of your visit

When visiting OZEANEUM you should schedule about 2 hours which is the average visiting time of our guests. Leaving the museum and re-entering the same day is possible. Please contact the info point at the foyer.

Tour of the museum

You may stop your tour to have lunch at OZEANEUM’s bistro and later continue. Just get a stamp at the info point and show when re-entering.

Nursing and changing rooms as well as space for prams/buggies are available. Please contact our staff.


You may rent a buggy for your tour. Spaces for bigger prams are located at the foyer between the museum shop shop and the “1:1 Giants of the Seas” exhibition. Upon request, baby carriers are also available free of charge.

There are 100 lockers provided at the foyer. Use requires the deposit of a security; while stocks last.

Dogs and other pets

Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the OZEANEUM - with the exception of guide and assistance dogs.


Stralsund’s old town and OZEANEUM are situated along the Baltic coast bike route.

Bicycle stands are available in front of the visitor entrance or around OZEANEUM.
